About Us

CLSGAMING or Charleville Laser Skirmish is a locally and family run venture for the township of Charleville,  The business itself was started after seeing many major populated areas getting these new and emerging activities and seeing country areas seen as not viable enough to start.  In light of the above - a company was formed and as such we are in the initial stages of bringing this fun game to Charleville.

Laser Skirmish brings the computer games that kids and adults play to real life.  The game system its self is safe.  Although the name implies the use of lasers, real lasers are NOT used at all. The actual transmitting element of almost all laser tag gear is an infrared Light Emitting Diode similar to those used in household remote controls. The term laser is generally a marketing device. The computerized tagger wielded by a player commonly emits a brief infrared beam which carries an identifying signal, and the target(s) record the signal when they are hit by the beam.

Due to no physical impact on the player - such as paintball, the game is then able to played by all ages.

The game is also able to played ANYWHERE where there is obstacles to hide behind.  The distance of the taggers gets out to about 140 meters plus.

Although the taggers are able to be set on indoor mode, and we also have the ability to change the settings for the range from short, medium and long.

The benefits of this gaming system are profound.  The gaming system has been designed to encourage team work amongst the participants.  In this game - there is no single player that wins - it is the team that ultimately achieves success or failure.  The gaming system has been formulated in such a way that it forces the participants to co-operate together to achieve the goals of the mission.

The missions may be

  • Secure an area

  • Hold an area

  • Capture the other teams flag

  • Defend their own flag

  • Capture and then defend an area

  • Move an object from one area to another

  • Move a VIP from one area to another

All the above require communication, organization and planning.  The funny thing is that when participants play - they don't realize how much of these important aspects they use.

The other clear identified benefits are health related.  At a time when parents can never seem to encourage children from the computer or TV - you will find children queuing, begging and pleading to play this game.  The most amazing aspect is that children don't realize they are exercising.  After the first couple of shots - and taking your first hit - you will even see adults diving for cover - running around the flanks.

It is not uncommon to find parents who join in - telling staff how they never realized how much exercise was actually involved. In most cases it is not uncommon to find dads reliving playing army men with their son or daughter - barking out orders and pointing to and fro.  (Mums normally get a big a laugh out of it).

There is a few FAQ questions here - however if you want a specific question answered - then don't hesitate to email us clsgaming@gmail.com.
